Dyan Newton
Dyan has been painting for over 30 years, working in watercolors, acrylics, pastels and oils. She has studied with well-known local and national artists. Throughout the years Dyan has developed her own impressionistic style of painting, recognizable by her lively brushwork and bright, vivid colors. Her love of painting is evident whether she is painting landscapes, portraits, animals or florals.
She is inspired by the beauty of a summer day or the innocence and “awe” she sees on a child's face. That is what Dyan wants to capture in her paintings and convey that feeling to the viewer: the same joy that she felt when she encountered the scene originally. Many viewers say they love her paintings' vibrant colors and how they radiate “happiness”.
The artist is a signature member of West Texas Watercolor Society, has won numerous awards, and has paintings in private and corporate collections throughout the U.S. and internationally. She also teaches classes/workshops throughout the year.
