Leah Fitts

An abstract expressionist and colorist, Leah Fitts uses acrylic paints, charcoal, graphite, and oil pastels in her original paintings.  Inspired by mid-century architecture and design, natural colors, and rich urban textures, Leah creates modern abstract paintings that lie somewhere on the continuum between chaos and zen.  While she uses a variety of brushes, palette knives, trowels, and sponges, her favorite and most effective painting tools are her hands. She paints to understand herself and the world around her, and to forge connections with those who view her work.  Allowing spontaneity and intuition to guide her, Leah’s abstract paintings represent a personal journey: thoughts and emotions captured on canvas and expressed through bold color, strong composition, textures and shapes.

Born and raised near Houston Texas, Leah now lives near Seattle Washington.  Leah Fitts' art is held in public and private collections throughout the U.S. as well as Australia, Canada, and Europe.

She works out of her studio in Tacoma Washington's beautiful and historic Opera Alley.
